Larissa Davies, B.S. Kinesiology

Owner, Flora Grace Pilates

Hi and welcome to my Bio page!  I hope this will provide some insight into what it would be like to work with me and give you a little background about my teaching history.

My initial exposure to Pilates was in 2002  through a group mat class offered by the local gym.  Intrigued by the fluidity and grace of Pilates, I felt drawn to study the exercises and master them.

The thought of teaching hadn't occurred to me until my Pilates Instructor, whom I had become close friends with, suggested it. It was by her persistent encouragement that I began to develop myself as a teacher.

In 2011 I sought out a comprehensive certification in conjunction with pursuing my bachelor degree in Kinesiology from California State University, Fullerton. I have worked with different ages, abilities, shapes and sizes, and particularly enjoy working with beginners.

In 2022 I opened Flora Grace Pilates. Opening the studio  was a turning point in my Pilates career where I further discovered  what would provide the best possible results for my clients.  This is when I decided to Journey into Classical Work.

In 2024 I enrolled in the Advanced Contrology Program at Authentic Method Pilates in New York for certified teachers, created by Inelia Garcia (who studied extensively under Romana Kryzanowska). Inelia has a holistic understanding of the Pilates method with a strong emphasis on exercise physiology and moving in a way that improves the quality of daily living.

Pilates continues to inspire me every day and it brings me sincere joy to share this practice with you!
